1. What cookies are
Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser to remember information between visits. Similar technologies, such as the browser's local storage, work in a similar way and are also covered by this policy.
2. Which cookies we use
Omoidetabi only uses technical cookies, which are essential for you to sign in and browse in your language. They are exempt from consent (art. 22.2 LSSI-CE), which is why we don't show you a cookie banner. We don't use analytics, advertising or social media cookies. The visit statistics that authors of shared books see are computed without cookies, without identifiers stored on your device and without personal data (the privacy policy explains how). To learn how the site is used (visits, performance and steps such as signing up or creating a book) we use Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights, which don't use cookies or store anything on your device and only receive aggregated data, without your name or email.

They are all first-party cookies: Omoidetabi sets them and nobody else reads them.
3. Local storage in your browser
The app also stores some preferences and data in your browser (localStorage and the service worker cache) so that it works better. They stay on your device and we don't use them to track you:
- light or dark theme and whether the sidebar is collapsed;
- whether you already closed the prompt to install the app;
- names of places already looked up, to avoid repeating searches;
- the app's static files and the offline page, to load faster.
You can delete them at any time in your browser settings.
4. Third-party services
- Maps: when you view a map, your browser downloads the map images from servers of MapTiler, our map provider, which receive your IP address. They don't set cookies on Omoidetabi.
- Payments and sign-in with Google: when you pay or sign in with Google, the Stripe or Google page opens, and they use their own cookies under their policies. They are not set on Omoidetabi.
5. How to manage or delete cookies
You can view and delete cookies in your browser settings (usually under «Privacy» or «Security»). If you block technical cookies you won't be able to sign in.
6. Changes
If we ever add cookies that are not technical (for example, analytics), we will first ask for your consent with a notice where you can accept or reject them, and we will update this policy. More on how we handle your data in the privacy policy.
